About the Job:

West Park were chosen to undertake design and build works for this global brand in September 2018, in a package to include solid and glazed partitions, door sets, and the installation of Armstrong and metal furring ceiling systems. The client had a clear vision to incorporate modern striking design, while still considering the practicalities of the office environment. There was particular focus for improved acoustics to meeting rooms, for which West Park worked closely with the Contractors design team, while not compromising on the fine finishing details. The project had it’s own challenges logistically, with only the use of a single staircase, to bring in over one hundred and thirty linear metres of drywall materials, over fifty five linear metres of glass, and twenty door sets, up nine floors! The project became phased to allow the client to maintain occupancy, this minimising disruption to the clients day to day operation. West Park created a carefully thought out programme of works to accommodate this working environment, with the Contractors site team.

With acoustics becoming a key item to our build, West Park offered Partitions to be fixed directly to the structural slab, and an improved decibel to ceilings by forming plasterboard metal furring systems. Areas considered a ‘weak point’ for acoustic testing, in the doors, we proposed the option of seals to all door liners, and a drop down seal to the underside of the doors in sensitive areas. This a simple, and cost effective method of gaining a more private environment, while not compromising on the aesthetic. Our suppliers at Forza Doors offered vision panels with 14.8mm sound glass, which allowed natural light still to enhance the working space, while maintaining the sound integrity. Our installation of Fusion Clearline Single Glazed Partitions also gave the flexibility of improving room acoustics a further 8 decibels, with the inclusion of 12.8mm toughened glass.
